What's new for 2025?
The latest editions of the Hyundai Tucson and Tucson Hybrid get a styling refresh with a new grille design, wider bumpers and streamlined lighting elements in both the front and back. New wheel designs add exterior freshness and optional interior enhancements include a pair of 12.3-inch displays. Downer's Grove, IL drivers will appreciate the return of several physical buttons for climate and audio functions.
Entry-level versions of the gas-powered Tucson come with a single 12.3-inch touchscreen and analog gauges. The steering wheel in the traditional Tucson has been tweaked and the climate control panel has been updated. Also available for Naperville and Glenview, IL buyers are a new dashboard shelf and a center console along with an optional wireless charging pad. The hybrid has a combined 231-horsepower rating and two new driving modes have been added, one of which is a Baby Mode that helps avoid waking a sleeping child.
The powertrain and performance
The gas-powered Tucson has a standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 187 horsepower and comes with an eight-speed automatic as well as your choice of front or all-wheel drive.The 2025 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid joins a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder gas engine with an electric motor to deliver a combined 231 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Power gets routed through a six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive comes standard. One of the biggest advantages in the Hyundai Tucson pure Hybrid for Glenview and Barrington, IL buyers is that the battery gets automatically recharged with energy from the gas engine and the regenerative braking system. The Tucson also comes in plug-in hybrid variations that do require battery recharging.
But with the pure hybrid, Streamwood and Glen Ellyn, IL drivers don't have to worry about recharging the battery like you would with a plug-in hybrid or an all-electric model. The time from zero to 60 mph in a Tucson Limited hybrid is estimated to be 7.0 seconds vs. 8.8 seconds in the gas-powered Tucson.
